Support To Mali

I went to Mali in western Africa to do some teacher-training programs in the summer of 2008. One of the teachers in my group was Faguimba Keita. Since that time I have been sending him money to help build a school in his village. Below are a few of the emails I have gotten from him and some photos of the present school (students, teachers and classroom).

dear ann mcallen
how are you ! i hope you are fine and all your family
i would like to inform you how the case of our school is going on.
as this year we got the permission to open our school we did that with two classes made of wood that is temporary. so we are collecting money for building a real school made of cement. as information one bag of cement 50kgs cost 5500fcfa .
and with one bag of cement we can make 50bricks and to build one classroom we need 3000 bricks. that is what we need. but the problem we have today is how to buy th school materiels for 200students that should cost 600000fcf
good comprehension

dear ann mcallen.
i am going to send you the photos of school of komanfara.
and to tell you that the school started this year but as you can notice students are studying in classrooms made with wood. as a shed. we bought tables some books for teachers and copy books for students.so the money you sent was very helpful for us .so these schools made with woods is there before we get money to build school with cements bricks .i do count on you always .the number of students is 100 and four classrooms two teachers .1 first grade and second grade one teacher 3rd grade and 4th grade one teacher.the students of komanfara pay themselves one teacher and the government of mali pay the second teacher.that is the present situation of school of komanfara.be sure i am at your disposal for questions and thank you very much for what you have done before.i am grateful also sorry for replying late your message.
peace to you and your family
