Saraswati is the Hindu goddess of education and creative arts. Saraswati Crafts is dedicated to both education and the arts as the profits from our store are given directly to educational projects around the world, mostly on the border of Thailand and Burma. Our items for sale were bought directly from cooperatives or from the artists themselves in Thailand, Burma, Central Asia, Bali, India, Mali, Turkey.

Saraswati Crafts has many one-of-a-kind items for sale. Due to the limited quantities and uniqueness of these individual crafts we are not able to show them all on the website or realistically sell all of them on the Internet. Our business sells these treasures at fairs, festivals and “home parties” around the Pacific NW. If you would be interested in having a “home party” please contact us.

In the meantime-the items for sale on the website are woodblock T-shirts and beadwork baskets. The woodblocks were done by woodcut artist Michel Pollard and the bead-work baskets were made by a women’s cooperative on Bali. The profits from these items are sold to send money to educational projects in Mali, Africa and on the border of Thailand and Burma.
